I Need a Baby
02:45
|
|||
You’re sweet but
I know
Just need someone
Yea anyone to call
Well no I’m not the type
Oh no no
Although I surely do
You’re sweet but
I know there’s always a hidden agenda
Need someone
Yea anyone to call your baby
Well no I’m not the type
To fall in love no not at first sight
Although I surely do
Go through the moods of
A clueless fool, reading too much into everything
My mind’s complacent only when I don’t have a book to read
The words on pages, those clever quips, and all your analogies
Oh oh oh those words you say are so flattering, they’re so flattering
You’re handsome but
I know I’m one in a line, in a line of women
You don’t need no one
All I want is to be your baby
And no I’m not the type
To jump in bed after first date night
Although I surely do
Go through all the moods of
A clueless fool, reading too much into everything
My mind’s complacent only when I don’t have a book to read
The words on pages, those clever quips, and all your analogies
Oh oh those words you say are so flattering, they’re so flattering
You’re so special, please don’t think any less of me
My body’s been aching, longing, in need of nurturing
So take advantage although I may certainly may regret
This act of instinct, impulse, I know you’ll soon forget

Cut-Throat Kings
04:07
|
|||
We’re the cut throat kings, you’ll love it how we rule
In the desert seven days, the colony’s already filled
With those people who share the same ideals
As the cut throat kings, you’ll love it how they rule
I’m beginning to think this is much more like a sickness
Some kind of plague or fucked up epidemic
Except that the side effects and the consequences
Don’t seem to be as harmful as we’d expected
Just be sure you show no symptoms specific to this
Manufactured, imaginary ailment
Cause however intangible or absent
We are born from war with this outbreak more than likely to spread
Past the cold, paved street beneath my feet
That’s yet to vanish from under me
It has left so many suspended from time to time
But with no interest in tyranny
best intentions in front of me
yea We may be able to tear through to the other side
Where the grass will grow beneath my feet
Turning what was white sand, green
yea with this start, I think we’ll make it out alive
I’m her cut-throat king, she loves the way he rules
In my rapture seven days, her empty mind is now filled
With propaganda towards opposing ideals
From this cut-throat king, she loves the way he rules
She’d began to think this is much more like a godsend,
Some kind of clarification or enlightenment
An open forum for scholars and friends
Of this cut throat king with whom the sickness begins
Just be sure you show no symptoms specific to this
Manufactured, imaginary ailment
Cause however intangible or absent
We are born from war with this outbreak more than likely to spread
Past the cold, paved street beneath my feet
That’s yet to vanish from under me
It has left so many suspended from time to time
But with no interest in tyranny
best intentions in front of me
yea We may be able to tear through to the other side
Where the grass will grow beneath my feet
Turning what was white sand, green
yea with this start, the cut throat kings will make it out alive

Make Liars
04:39
|
|||
You’re always waitin on
Somebody else’s gun
To fire
And you’re not all talk,
cut all that hair off, Just to
make me a liar
well I bit my tongue
in the restaurant
but now that you’re gone
well I’ve got a lot to say
straight and to the point
I won’t avoid
No, no I won’t paraphrase, not anything
Speak your mind baby I have the time
I wanna listen to you
Empty your head upon my lap, I swear to carry upon my back
Your mood
You know I talk enough for the both us
But I just may, well I may prove
Your father too right, but baby just this time
I’m getting out, Yea I’m breakin loose
so we’ll just forget it, I'm out of town
even though I’m reckless I won’t cave now
your petty little words no they won’t hold me
to the idea that I never could be
this good
so fucking good
I’m always cheatin on
Blaming somebody else’s gun
for the fire
so you cut your hair off
just to prove me
to prove me a liar
said you’ve lied enough for the both us
and I’m through listening to
what you have to say
yea it’s time to be man you big shot
always speaking your way
out of the blame
so we’ll just forget it, I'm out of town
even though I’m reckless I won’t cave now
your petty little words no they won’t hold me
to the idea that I never could be
this good
so fucking good

Perfect Design
02:24
|
|||
oh I'm sure life's a blast
with all those pleasant memories you have
but i wanna know is there more to you
than meets my eye
if so, I want a sneak preview
of where you lye
is that bed made so perfect
by the pillows you
fashion all over it
or are you waitin on some new design
to match the season that's just arrived
I don’t know I don’t know
oh so we're doin just for kicks
just two young curious high school kids
oh but we never learned how to play fair
just took advantage of whatever was there
oh is there a perfect design
of where our naive hearts should lie
some stay bursting from the seams
Oh I've resigned it to loves only for thieves
But I don’t know, I don’t know
All these things that I
That I don’t know

Pa-Pa's Place
03:43
|
|||
Two day getaway took me to your papa’s place
the drinks don’t stop
always hopin to get lucky, or find somebody
maybe hit the jackpot
stuck in a casino, without any windows
no light of day
where all the high rollers ride roller coasters
all hoping to get paid
and it goes on, yea
thinking you’re better
but you really never
knew which way was up
did ya, did ya?
happens all too often, fall to persuasions
all flattery
yea you’re holdin such a good hand, the drinks keep comin
waitress is real sweet
she said she’s the ticket, greyhound to las vegas
showgirl dreams
last naive mistake was a co-op in LA
but as an actress she believed
that life goes on, it ain’t fair
you might arrive sometime
but not quite feel like you’re really there
so when the dreams have faded, no more complaisance
from going full steam
saddle up and ride out
this could be an old western movie
if you just let it be
so don’t get down, no freaking out
cause the plan’s still the same
three comrades until it’s over
they’ll remember our names
if we make them change
if we make them change
they’ll have no choice
but to remember our names

Two Dollar Words
03:55
|
|||
Two dollar words could never make sense to you
Why you always got so much to say?
The fast life’s expensive no don’t make it a habit
Or it might
Turn you into a spectacle in need of a miracle
To get out alive
The shit’s been stepped on twice
And it’s even harder when you
ain’t got no fight, no
shining star to turn to
trade my city for the bucolic life
yea I wanna feel like a cowboy
only livin’ only for the next day, next bank
to strip of it’s insides
grab at my pistol when my head’s full
draw it soon as I realize
no plans for the next day, low stakes
lone star state you’d never been mine
chin-up carpet bagger
our south was made for this
just as your yankee lies
did this country a disservice
Two dollar words could never make sense to you
Why you always got so much to say?
The fast life’s expensive no don’t make it a habit
Or it might
Turn you into a spectacle in need of a miracle
To get out alive
